First solo: Dean

HAPPY New Year to everyone, and here’s a brief bit of news hanging over from December.

My student Dean made his first solo flight – an excellent trip around the circuit at CYTZ. This has got a lot more difficult now that Porter is flying again and runway 24 is no longer an airplane park and is back in service because students have to be ready to switch runways at short notice (perhaps that’s a subject for another blog article).

For anyone collecting numbers, Dean had 19.7 hours of flight before logging his first Pilot-in-Command time, and his solo was his twenty-third flight in total.

Well done to Dean.
